Freelance Home-Visit Physiotherapist (Ipoh & Perak)
Treat patients in their own homes across Ipoh and Perak, on a schedule you control, and get paid per visit as an independent physiotherapist.
About this role
PhysioIpoh connects patients across Ipoh and Perak with registered physiotherapists. A large share of the people who message us cannot easily travel to a clinic: stroke survivors, post-surgery patients recovering at home, elderly people with mobility problems, and busy families caring for a relative. This freelance role is about reaching those patients where they are.
You work as an independent physiotherapist, not an employee. We pass you home-visit enquiries in the areas you choose to cover, and you decide which ones to accept based on your schedule. You run the clinical side; we handle the enquiries and the admin of matching you with patients.
What you would do
Each home visit is a self-contained session: assessment, hands-on treatment, and a simple home programme the patient and their family can follow between visits. Most cases are neuro-rehabilitation, post-operative knee and hip recovery, falls and balance work with older adults, and general musculoskeletal pain.
- Assess and treat patients in their own homes across your chosen towns.
- Set exercise and mobility plans that carers can support day to day.
- Keep brief session notes and flag anything that needs a doctor or referral.
- Decide your own weekly capacity - take on as many or as few visits as you want.
Who this suits
This arrangement works best for physiotherapists who already have some clinical experience and are comfortable making independent decisions in a home setting without a colleague next door. It suits parents returning to work who need flexible hours, physiotherapists building a private caseload alongside a part-time clinic job, and experienced clinicians who prefer one-to-one home work to a busy clinic floor.
Because visits are spread across Perak, your own transport is essential - you will drive between Ipoh neighbourhoods and out to towns like Batu Gajah, Gopeng and Kampar. You keep control of how far you are willing to travel.
Pay and arrangement
Home visits typically pay RM90-180 per session, depending on the treatment, travel distance and complexity of the case. As a freelance physiotherapist you invoice for the visits you complete, and you are responsible for your own tax and MAHPC annual practising certificate. There is no minimum commitment - some physiotherapists take two or three visits a week, others build it into a fuller caseload.
These figures are indicative of the Ipoh and Perak market. We will confirm exact rates and how enquiries are shared when we speak.
Areas we cover
Our patient enquiries come mainly from Ipoh, Batu Gajah, Gopeng, Kampar and Taiping, plus the neighbourhoods around them. You tell us which of these you are happy to serve, and we only pass you visits within that radius.
How to apply
Send us a WhatsApp or email with your MAHPC registration status, your years of experience, the areas of Perak you can cover, and your availability. Attach your CV and we will take it from there. No cover letter needed - just tell us what kind of home-visit work you are looking for.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be MAHPC-registered?
Yes. You must be registered with the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council, or eligible and in the process of registering. It protects patients and is a legal requirement to practise.
Is this employment or freelance?
Freelance. You work as an independent physiotherapist, invoice for the visits you complete, and manage your own tax and annual practising certificate. There is no minimum number of visits.
Do I need my own transport?
Yes. Home visits are spread across Ipoh and nearby Perak towns, so you need a reliable vehicle. You decide how far you are willing to travel.
How are patients assigned to me?
We receive home-visit enquiries through the site and WhatsApp, and match them to physiotherapists covering that area. You accept the ones that fit your schedule.
